Keith Gjebre, DMD is a member of the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry (AAPD).

A non-profit organization founded in 1947, the AAPD is the recognized authority on children’s oral health and advocates for the best in pediatric dental care for all children, including those with special health care needs.

Today, The AAPD is the leader in representing the oral health interests of children and

  • Promotes evidence-based policies and clinical guidelines
  • Educates and informs policymakers, parents and guardians, and other health care professionals
  • Fosters research and provides continuing professional education for pediatric dentists and general dentists who treat children.

The 8,400 members of the AAPD also serve as contributors to professional education programs and scholarly works concerning dental care for children. The Academy emphasizes a three-part approach to dental care for children, from infants to adolescents:

  • Prevention and treatment through regular pediatric dental visits
  • Education: teaching children and families how to maintain good oral health
  • Research: working to develop improved methods of preventing oral problems

When your child’s dental health care is entrusted to a pediatric dentist and member of the AAPD, you are working with a specialist whose unique training and continuing education offer the best possible opportunities for a great outcome.
