Infant Care: Age One Dental Visits
We follow the guidelines of the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, which recommend that children have their first dental visit 6 months after the first tooth appears or by their first birthday. Starting care early helps lower the risk of cavities and sets the foundation for a lifetime of healthy smiles.
At this first visit, our team will:
- Check your child’s teeth and gums
- Monitor jaw growth and development
- Offer guidance on healthy habits such as pacifier use, thumb or finger sucking, and teeth grinding
- Share tips for brushing, diet, and cavity prevention at home
These early visits are gentle, informative, and designed to make both children and parents feel comfortable. They give families the tools and confidence to care for their child’s smile from the very beginning.
